Recently in a moment of my own frustration about how to help her to help me understand what she was struggling with, I told her to try and write down what she was thinking and feeling. Truthfully I expected either an empty paper or one with short, standard answers. What she brought to me and read to me was a page of meaningful, thoughtful responses. At that moment I had one of my "aha" moments and set out to find a guided devotional journal for my daughter to use each day. What I found hit all my criteria and then some.
